Beautiful Central Oregon

TheDeschutes andOchoco National Forests - along with the Crooked River National Grassland encompass a little over 2.5 million acres. The area extends about 100 miles along the east side of the Cascade Mountains and eastward into the Ochoco Mountains. With a multitude of diverse scenic and recreation opportunities, you are sure to fine something for everyone in your family. Glimmering Lakes, forests, lush meadows, and flowing rivers, even lava caves are contained within the magnificent volcanic peaks of the Cascade Mountain Range. High Desert Museum - Located just three miles south of Bend, Oregon, is best way to see The High Desert Museum is to chart your own tour through the exhibits and wildlife. As you walk around the nearly 53,000 square feet of exhibits and amenities in the main building and while paved outdoor trails that wind through acres of exhibits and animal habitats, you will encounter, at various locations, Volunteer interpreters to help you get the most from your visit.

SISTERS—Located in western Deschutes County, Sisters is known as the Gateway to the Cascades. With its 1880's theme, the downtown area has the authentic look and feel of the Wild West, and is a delightful place to shop with its many specialty stores and galleries. With rafting, rodeos, fly-fishing, mountain climbing, hiking, camping, mountain biking, golfing, skiing or snowmobiling Sisters has it all. Be sure to see our day trip to Sisters.

Sunriver Nature Center - Located in Sunriver, in Central Oregon, Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory has interpretive exhibits, large scale public observatory, educational programs, botanical garden, and a nature trail. As a private, not-for-profit scientific and educational organization, their goal is to "inspire present and future generations to cherish and understand our natural world."
