Darlingtonia State Natural Site is the only Oregon state park dedicated
to the protection of a single plant species.Visit this Oregon weekend,
you will be glade you did. Located just north of Florence it is a must
see. This is one of our favorite places. The site is relatively small
but has a wide variety of plant life. There are picnic tables and rest
There is a small trail that takes you through the area to see the
pitcher plants. This is the only carnivorous plant in Oregon.
Rhododendron, spruce, cedar and shore pine can also be found here.
This site is a beautiful place all year around. During the spring the
flowers are in bloom and wonderful to see. During the winter the
evergreens make this spot an oasis from the winter weather. Take 30 or
40 minutes to visit this site you will be glad you did.
